Books
– Film-Related
There are too many listed for me to go into details regarding condition etc
with each one, so please enquire about individual books. I have noted if any
book is in particularly below-average condition. Most are vgc and will most
likely be profusely illustrated. Please note that I am reluctant to part with
some of these books, which may be reflected in what might seem an excessive
price. Prices exclude postage, which will (obviously) vary from book to book and is by arrangement.
Large format
Some hardback, some softback - postage rates negotiable – bear in mind
that many of these, especially the hardbacks, may be fairly heavy.

- The following 7 books are devoted to Hollywood stars of the
golden era – some of whom have long since been forgotten, some of whom
are now undying legends - and date from the same time. This was before Hollywood
Babylon, before the National Enquirer, before paparazzi, from a time when stars
were still pure and godlike. The books are somewhat damaged due to their ages
(see below) but still, for the most part, in acceptable condition – and
they are remarkably evocative objects. £3.25 each or all 7 for £21
– prices exclude postage.
FILM SHOW ANNUAL 1958 (some spine damage but good condition for age)
PICTURE SHOW ANNUAL 1950 (ring stains on front cover and edges a little battered,
otherwise pretty good condition)
FILM PARADE 1948 (covers somewhat ageworn, otherwise pretty good condition)
PICTURE SHOW ANNUAL 1943 (cover creased, scratched and largely detached from
book, tape on inside front cover, some minor ink on some pages)
PICTURE SHOW ANNUAL 1942 (cloth spine almost entirely detached from spine, and
a past owner has written ‘D’ next to each star who had died at the
time…)
PICTURE SHOW ANNUAL 1935 (one side of cloth spine almost detached from spine,
covers somewhat timeworn, and more bloody ‘D’s on some pages, one
page loose)
MEET THE FILM STARS 1934/1935 (damage to spine, covers rubbed, otherwise in
remarkably good condition – and no ‘D’s!)
